“To me, Project Noted was a group of people that came together to spread acceptance and positivity. It was an extremely uplifting project that was created by my peers and brought more optimism. Though I wasn’t directly involved in some of the projects, Project Noted made sure that the entire student body felt involved and accepted. Project Noted went against any kind of negativity and always made sure people were the best person they could be. “- Avi Ng NEST’20
” My favorite part of project noted was actually writing my “note” to someone at Nest + m. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on my experience of high school and specifically this school. I loved sharing a little part of my life with someone else and knowing that my note made someone’s day a little bit better. It was an opportunity to be honest with myself and a stranger. This is a great project that I hope we do more often.” -Anna Vartsaba NEST’20
“Project noted is a opportunity to give and receive support from anyone in the school community. Project noted was not only fun, but a chance to see my peers demonstrate how kind and caring they are. Project Noted made me realize that I can impact the lives of so many people with something seemingly simple. A nice word, a compliment or even a smile. Receiving my note made me feel a little bit more supported- think the school community felt that energy, too. “- Anonymous student
“Project Noted is, like so many other clubs at NEST, working to improve the NEST community. However, it does not just fade into the background because of its similarity to other student organizations. PN differentiates itself through specific initiatives that are true to their club, such as welcoming letters. These, as well as plenty of other works, play a key role in our community. This is such a special club to me because it reminds me of all the people in our school who care enough to care for NEST.
I know I can’t speak for everyone at NEST, but I have definitely been impressed by the work Project Noted has done. The video they put together was so sweet and funny. I loved that the people I see in the halls and interact with every day made such an effort in something that wasn’t mandatory, but was for the betterment of our school, and that they enjoyed. The letter idea was just another one of Project Noted’s great initiatives, and i really did enjoy writing mine. I hope and believe that those letters impacted somebody who needed a little more happiness in their day. It makes me so happy to think that a student organization is causing that. “- Anissa Hall NEST+M Student Body President
“Project Noted was a really pleasant surprise. It means a lot that people in my school took time to do something that could actually make a difference. It may not be that big but sometimes all it takes is some words of encouragement to put someone’s perspective and mindset in a positive direction.
I know Project Noted has impacted kids in my school as well. One of my closest friends expressed to me how much the letter they got meant to them and that they were surprised at how a few small paragraphs could immediately uplift their mood. The other kids in my school were genuinely excited to get their letters and read them as well. To say the least, it really put good energy in our small school community.
I think my favorite part of Project Noted was writing my own letter. It gave me time to think about things that I wanted to hear and made me really excited to give someone something that I would want. I think everyone deserves to hear words of encouragement and seeing other people’s reactions was also very heartwarming. “- Anna Li ’20
” I think project noted is a pretty engaging activity which brings people in our school community closer together, although not directly. After the anonymous letters were distributed last year, it felt pretty nice to receive a kind note from someone, whether I knew them or not. It certainly made my day a bit better. After that little surprise, I realized how small things may influence a lot more than someone might think, such as putting a smile on someone’s face ” -Amelia Lam Student at St. John’s University
“I think Project Noted was almost like going back to my younger self and telling that version of myself stuff I wish I knew— so being able to do that for somebody else made it feel like everything I was learning throughout high school was being put to good use I think it helps students ease into the culture of high school because it’s quite different from middle school, but adjusting is always the most difficult part and Project Noted is a good guideline for that”- Fatima Begum Student at Columbia University
