Project Noted was an idea that came to me when I began to think about the different ways in which I could help my friends and peers feel as though they had a voice. I think often times students forget that they are entitled to a voice and to be heard when it comes to their mental health. I also strongly believe that we could do more, so I thought Project Noted would be a great way to empower my peers while giving them space, respect, and anonymity- which many find comforting.
My favorite moment of Project Noted was the beginning stages of the project. It was honestly one of the most touching moments of my life when I asked people to join the team and I was responded to with love and support: the intent of the project. I will never forget sitting in rooms with my team during school holidays, rainy days, and rough times when we put it all aside for the good of our community. The bond we built through Project Noted is proof of the power of our work.
I believe that our Project had many last impacts, however, the empowerment of peers was one of the greatest achievements we’ve had. I think there was nothing more powerful than knowing that our work led to people’s vulnerability and trust. It was truly beautiful opening some of the letters we sifted through and seeing that students took Project Noted to heart and used it to not only give themselves a voice but to say, “Hey, I know you’re struggling, but I want you to know you’re not alone.”

At first I was drawn to the simple yet extremely thoughtful action of writing letters to help people overcome their insecurities and demons. My favorite moment of Project Noted has to be the time when the entire group and I took a long train ride to Coney Island to plan the execution of the project. After handing out the letters, it was truly heartwarming to see the genuine reactions of people to others personal experiences.

I was drawn to the project because of my ambition to create a welcoming and accepting environment at our K-12 highschool. My favorite memory was seeing the impact of our project on the school community. It’s a really rewarding experience to see your hard work and dedication on a project have a leading impact. We were able to create a video about the values of a NEST+m student and what it means to be inclusive. This video was incorporated into English class lesson plans, and thus we were able to share our project with all grades 9th-12th.

I chose to me a member of Project Noted because it fulfilled an aspect of community growth that I felt was being overlooked. It was an opportunity for me to be a part of something creative, inspiring, and directly influential. I was also incredibly attracted to the youth leadership that it was being run through and wanted to assist in any way I could. My favorite memory is moment we presented the work we had done and brought the project directly to the people we were trying to influence and help. I remember when we showed the film we made for part one of the project and how people responded so positively. That moment was incredible. The big impact came about because of collection of little things. Just the idea that people cared and were working to make things even a bit better was super important and showed people that they are being seen.
I decided to become a member because I always felt empathy or just a kind word from someone goes a long way and has helped me on some really bad days. This gave me the chance to possibly do the same for someone else. I think my favorite memory from project noted was writing and reading the notes people submitted and seeing how seriously people took it and how willing they were to be a shoulder for someone to cry on. I think that this projects biggest impact was reminding people that every and anyone can be going through someone and for some people a small gesture like this can go a long way. So seeing people really grasp and reactive so postively that proved to me what we were doing mattered.

I chose to become a member of Project Noted because it’s an initiative that combines a bunch of things I’m passionate about. The whole idea is to promote confidence and spread the word that there are people out there for you to confide in, to relate to, and to simply have a good time with. My favorite part of Project Noted was filming the promotion video because the team really became a family. We had a lot of fun filming and rehearsing. As a freshman getting used to high school is was wonderful to have an outlet like Project Noted to bond with and get to know peers from other grades. I would say the biggest impact Project Noted had in the school community was the way it anonymously brought people together. It created a portal for people to seek and give advice to each other without having to know someone on a personal basis.
I was initially drawn to become a member of the Project Noted team because of its goal. It’s mission seemed very fitting considering the crippling state of mental and emotional health in today’s high schoolers. In addition, it seemed like such a rewarding experience to take part in something that would directly impact my fellow peers in such a positive way. Being tasked with reviewing the masses of anonymous letters from across the four grades was no easy feat. However, it was incredibly humbling to sit in a space with the rest of Project Noted team and share amongst each other just how moving the written letters were. My favorite memories as part of the team were the several instances someone would read aloud a letter they had stumbled on to review and the room would have the shared experience of internalizing the importance and necessity of our role in the project and the messages to be received. Following Project Noted, the school community had acquired a greater appreciation for random and deliberate acts of kindness and focused more on how to uplift one another rather than work against one another which was proven immensely instrumental in increasing the overall environment of our school.
Favorite memory would have to be when we had our girls night in event because it was really cool to see what we worked for months on finally come to life and it was really successful too! I also really liked the letters to the underclassmen. I chose to be a member because a lot of my friends were in and and I liked that it was going to be a chance to really make change in the school community and plan events and different experiences for students I think the biggest impact it had was being a welcoming space for people to come and feel heard since sometimes it is really hard to be.
1.I joined Project Noted because I saw the opportunity it had to build community throughout our school community and wanted to be apart of something so amazing. I remember towards the end of the project, the whole team of Project Noted was in this small room working together to finish the final pieces of the project. It’s something that sticks with me because we were all skipping our lunch and finishing up the project as a team and I saw the community the project built within the team as well as the community it built in our school community. I think Project Noted had the greatest impact on the students because the students wanted to build the community more after seeing the success of the project.
I chose to be apart of Project Noted to pursue a simple goal that I saw could be accomplished with our team; making people smile. I thought that the idea of writing letters to fellow students would be a perfect way of spreading love and kindness into our small community at Nest+m. What I admired most about the project was the possibility of making hundreds of students express their vulnerability in writing about their thoughts, emotions and past experiences in hopes of making a classmate of theirs smile. My favorite memory of Project Noted was the most important part of the whole process. When we had each English class watch the introduction video and then write their own letters, I was moved by the effort and commitment each student put into their letters. Everyone wanted the readers experience to be the way they hoped theirs would be. “Treat others the way you would want to be treated”. I believe the project had an important impact on reevaluating the importance of empathy and connection for each person in the Nest+M student body. The project brought our high school closer together. Knowing that someone out there, walking the same hallways as you and entering the same classrooms as you put the effort of writing a letter to you, is what allowed for a greater appreciation to each student at Nest.
I chose to become a member of Project Noted because I really liked the message of positivity and goodwill that the organization stands for. The core values and the commitment of the founding members really drew me to the project. I think it has a very important goal of spreading positivity throughout our school. My favorite memory of the project was when we filmed the video. It was very fun and showing it to the classes was interesting. I think this project has impacted people by making them feel valued and loved. It was a nice way to bring our school together and strengthen our community.
I chose to be apart of the team because I wanted to be apart of something larger than myself, and help others. I was drawn to the project because it was a simple way to make others feel more loved. The post-it notes scattered throughout the school is one of my favorite memories of the project. I think the project had a huge impact on how we look at each ourselves in school. Especially with the post- it’s on the walls in bathrooms- it boosts self-love and confidence subtly.
I was a transferred student, but Project Noted made the new school feel home. I hoped to return the favor by helping out. 🙂 Share your favorite memory of project Noted. Favorite memory #1: the moment I helped to distribute a random anonymous letter into an envelope with someone’s name on it. I guess this is how it feels like to be Santa. Favorite memory #2: When I joined the group, I was surprised by the incredibly kind texts everyone in the group sent me. Wow. I chose to be a member because I believe in how much kindness can empower someone who is going through a hard time. Maybe someone, whom I might or might not know, could read a letter from me and hear exactly what he or she needed to hear. The anonymous nature of Project Noted creates a safe space for people to be vulnerable and choose to stand with someone for issues they might not be able to say out loud.
